A-Day & a B-Day

We celebrated Dru's birthday this weekend! He turned 32 on Sunday, but the celebrating began in Auburn on Saturday. We headed over for the A-Day game and for dinner with Dru's family. The game was fun...tiring with Cope going non-stop, but thank goodness we were able to sit in scholarship seats where he could be bribed with all of the cookies his fat little hands could hold. Simms had a great time seeing Lilla and Emiline, and I know there is nowhere that Dru would rather be than the Auburn stadium, watching our 3 Heisman winners be recognized and watching our team play. The day was beautiful!

And there they are again!

Taking it all in..

The one thing that would cause him to sit still for one minute..

Simms & Lilla having fun together..

We had dinner at Mikata after the game. Dru was serenaded..

He was embarrassed by that..it was funny though!

We enjoyed delicious cupcakes for dessert..

It was so much fun celebrating Dru's birthday in Auburn! It took me down memory lane, to the first birthday I celebrated with him, which was his 21st birthday at Bourbon Street! Times sure have changed! We came home after dinner, and bless Dru's heart, I woke up so, so sick on Sunday, his actual birthday. He was such a trooper. Had both kids bathed and ready for Sunday school and church, took care of me and the kids all afternoon, and never, ever complained. I truly don't recall ever being that sick. It was bad. I did make myself perk up though so we could attend a cookout with the Kirks and Parhams. The Parhams were so sweet to host such a fun night and I am really glad that Dru got to do something fun on his day, not just take care of me! Here is Dru celebrating with his peanut butter pie that Simms and I made Saturday morning. Sunday after church she put all 32 candles on the pie. She was super proud of it!

Now I usually don't put mushy stuff on the blog. I save it for cards. BUT..I do have to say how blessed we are to have Dru as the head of our family. He takes such good care of us, and loves us unconditionally. I am so lucky he is my husband and our kids are so lucky he is their Daddy. He is not only a wonderful family man, but just an all around great guy and a super hard worker! We thank the Lord for Daddy every single morning on our way to preschool! Dru has a little girl that is a true daddy's girl and a little boy that wants to be with him 24/7. And a wife that loves to be with him all of the time too! He doesn't get much of a break from his family but I like to think he is ok with that ;) Happy Birthday Dru! We love you very much!
