Christmas Eve & Christmas Day 2013

We woke up on Christmas Eve early. The kids had been visited by Pixel and a marker the night before. He turned them into his own little Rudolphs! We carried on our tradition of delivering to the Empty Stocking families we buy for through our church. This year we actually let the kids get out and help us take the gifts into the homes. We explained to them what we were doing and why we do it. The look on their little faces was priceless. Experiencing that and seeing the faces on these families is pricless and makes me cry every year. I still tear up thinking back on the dad whose daughter was receiving the bicycle. It means so much to them. And us. I love Christmas Eve morning doing this with our church family and my family.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing before heading to my Meme's house for my 31st Christmas Eve there. Such a magical night for me as a child, and now my children experience it as well. How special. We put Santa's milk and cookies out before we left in the hopes that the kiddos would fall asleep on the way home from Memes, and they did!

Meme and Grandaddy's Great Grandchildren- Cope almost 4, Simms 6 with Clarke 6 months,
Mary Margaret almost 4, Bennett 6 holding Corbitt 4 months..what a blessing to them!

We had such a fun night there, as always. We came home and put the kids in bed then waited with excitement for them to wake up on Christmas morning to see what Santa had brought them...

I couldn't wait for them to wake up! They didn't say much at first
then their eyes got wide and they ran in! Precious.

And in what seemed like a matter of minutes the room looked
like this. Such a fun, sweet and exciting time in their little lives.

Simms' favorite gift was her Emily and Molly dolls. She
knew they were being retired and wanted Emily so bad.
She thought Molly {my old Molly} was in her doll chest but little
did she know Santa had her sent to the AG doll hospital for a new head. Ha! Simms
thinks she just got fixed up but we had to have her head replaced. She came back with a new tap outfit
and glasses too. Simms still thinks that is the neatest thing..that Santa knew to
have Molly fixed up! Ha!!

Cope's favorite thing is his excavator/sand digger. He feels
like a real construction worker...

And I like to think Clarke's favorite gift was her little pink bunny
Huggums from Santa :)
Christmas night we went to my parents house, with the Kirks and Uncle Miles. Aunt Katy had to work..nurses are so selfless aren't they? We missed her. Meme and Grandaddy were there too. We ate a delicious meal and opened presents and had such a fun time. Of course my phone was dead and I just had this one picture Sissy sent me of our kids playing on my mom's piano with Meme. They were playing Jingle Bells. We stayed till almost midnight watching Christmas Vacation. What a wonderful Christmas day we had.
