Cope is 4!

Our precious boy turned 4 on December 30. I cannot believe he's 4. All he wanted for his birthday was to go to Chuck E Cheese with Bennett. Really, that is what he'd say everytime I asked him what kind of party he wanted. So, since that continued to be his request, that is what we did. He had a blast and felt so special having all of that attention on him. He had his party at school before they got out for Christmas break, so he was able to celebrate then as well!

We celebrated the day before his actual birthday at Chuck E Cheese. His favorite thing to eat is pizza, so he was very happy that was what was for lunch! He played his little heart out, then they brought him a cake out. After cake and presents we were all exhausted (2 hours at Chuck E Cheese should be the max allowed for the parents' sanity).

He woke up to a cinammon roll "cake" the morning that he turned 4. He loves cinammon rolls! He was so happy. He opened a few presents, had a blizzard for lunch (not kidding) and waited for Daddy to get home. He had a few more presents to open when Dru got home so he was READY! He chose our dinner destination, and afterwards we had cake and icecream again, and some more presents.

Cope has changed so much in the last year. Very few "baby" traits remain, and he really is a little boy now. He started school this year for the first time, and loves it. His speech has gotten so much better. He is rowdy most of the time. He is still a very, very picky eater but a GREAT sleeper. Rarely do we have to "make" him go to bed. He will tell you right around 8:30 every night he's ready and he's out within minutes. Trucks, trains, tools. Dinos, football, dirt. Wrestling, a love for bugs and a wonderful imagination. These things make him our little boy. But. His tight hugs around my neck, his daily kisses, his need for his mama to still hold him, his love for his daddy's attention, those sparkly eyed, ear-to-ear grins he gives me. These things make him my heart. I always wanted a little boy. And this is the one God created just for us. We love him more than we could ever explain.
