Simms' Preschool Open House

Simms' ADORABLE preschool had their open house this afternoon. It also marks the first anniversary of the preschool under it's new owner/director/awesome teacher, so the theme of the day was "Happy Birthday to Us". I can't speak enough about how excited I am about this year for Simms. It is a hard decision to willingly give my time with my daughter up to someone else a few hours each day {5 days a week, 3 hours a day} but I am so confident in sending her here. It is a sacrifice I am happy to make. She went a few times this summer to camp there, but this is her first year as a preschool student there. The funny thing is, I went to this very same school, under a different director, and with a different name. We can't wait until Wednesday morning!

Simms went to this center immediately. I love her teacher's use of different centers and how she utilizes her space. She is a super talented woman. And married to the dad of one of Dru's friends from Trinity and Auburn (and Dru's roomate one year too) yet she is from here! Small but neat world.

Simms and Lanier. So excited for them to be together. Lanier's mama, Sissy and myself were 3 peas in a pod growing up. Now if only I could have gotten Bennett to be still to get in the pic. He had too much to do :).

We are so excited about this year! Simms knows some of the children in her class, and we are excited to get to know all of the others. And we are so pumped about her getting to take ballet too through her preschool. A very established school of dance in our area is going to come to Simms' school one day a week for ballet. I am beside myself with excitement about her in a leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Not to mention she will have a Christmas and Spring recital. Seriously coming out of my skin. I LOVE it!! And my friend Kara, who is a very experienced dancer, took from this instructor for years, and spoke very highly of her and the school. So that is great that Simms will get to do that this year too! Be back Wednesday after the first day!
