21 months

Simms is 21 months old today! As I was thinking about her being 21 months, it hit me just how close to turning 2 she is! Time is just rolling by so, so fast! There are so many times I just wish I could slow things down because I know how precious these days are!

We have loved our days this summer! Of course now it is almost always too hot to be outside, but if Simms has it her way, that is exactly where we will be. She will play and play until her cheeks are SO red, and I am about to faint! It is worth it though because she truly LOVES being outside! I hear, "Swing, mommy, swing" quite often during the day.

We have been on the road lots this summer, but that sweet girl has been such a trooper and just tags right along perfectly!

She knows there is a baby in mommy's tummy, and can even say his name! It is so precious!

She is putting more words together, which delights us, because it is just so fun to listen to hear her speak in very short sentences!

I can definitely tell that the two's are near. We have been dealing, a little too frequently, with some biting and pinching issues. Poor Bennett. He is usually her victim. I don't really know what to do about it besides telling her no, and explaining that we don't hurt others. I am hoping this is just her way of expressing herself when she is frustrated, and once she can communicate better, she will verbalize these things to us instead of getting physical! Other than that, she is still our sweet baby. I get so sentimental thinking of our times with Simms as a newborn, baby, toddler and as our only child. I know this is normal. She will always be the sweet little girl that made me a mommy and we just love her SO much!

Minnie and Grandanny are coming over tonight to cook out. They have Bennett this weekend while Sissy and Drew are at a wedding, so Simms is very excited about seeing "BB".

Happy 21 months sweet Simms. You are an incredible little girl!

*Thanks Aunt B for my sweet outfit that I am wearing!

I feel your "sentimentalness" toward the "only" child. I've cried or really balled my eyes out everyday for the past week and a half...though it is a wonderful thing it will be hard to have to share the time. It's been just the two of us for so long!

These are precious days and I remember trying to savor each one until the baby came. I worried so much over it but I was so amazed how natural of a transition it was. It was just like it was meant to be. Mary Selwyn adjusted perfectly and so did mommy and daddy really. You will all be fine. She is a cutie and is going to be a super cute big sis.
