The Tree, My Favorite Decorations & An Old Picture

We finally got our tree up and decorated last night! It wasn't nearly as stressful as I'd imagined {decorating with a 3 year old and a rambunctious 11 month old}! We actually moved the tree back into our living room this year {where it was our 1st Christmas as newlyweds} due to the fact that I really didn't want to move all of the "stuff" out of our den {play kitchen, other toys, kiddie table and chairs, pack-n-play, bouncey, yeah, yeah, you get the idea}. I am loving our tree and loved turning it on this morning when Cope and I graced its presence at 6 am!

And here are my favorite Christmas decorations at the Goodwin house, and a little history behind them:

Last Christmas my mama started letting Sissy and I choose one thing each Christmas from her Christmas decorations. Things that we were sentimental about. I chose these angels. They were my great-grandmothers. I actually keep them out all year long in my secretary, but pulled them out for the Season. My mama thinks my great-grandmother Evans made or maybe just painted them. Very special to me.

Dru's stocking when he was little. Now being used for our sweet boy. Handmade for him by I want to say a great-aunt. And how special, a basset hound, just like my beloved dog, Babe.

I love the sweetness and simplicity of this nativity. Given to us by sweet friends of Dru's parents, the Gosses.

I think this one says it all.

For my precious little girl's first Christmas. She was around 7 weeks old.

Given to me for Cope last year by Mrs. Lil and Dr. Donny. He was still in my tummy and due to make his arrival 5 days after Christmas. Such a sweet time.

Our sweet Ellie's ornament. Poor girl. She's taken such a backseat to our human kiddos.

I bought this sweet treat of an ornament for myself to add to my collection. I just love him.

Such a pretty Santa and I love the jingle bell on the bottom of his hat.

Of course little cowboy represents Daddy!

Aunt Becca gave Simms this ornament the year she turned 1. I love it.

Carolers given to me by my Meme when I was in 7th grade. She gave these to me the Christmas that I had my tonsils taken out instead of balloons or flowers. She wanted me to have something that I could have forever.

Because each Christmas growing up, I eagerly awaited this version of Rudolph to premiere on TV, this is so much fun to have. Simms thinks it is magical.

A beautiful reminder of what this Season is all about. Given to me at my Christmas shower in Montgomery.

Ok..Hope you are still with me. I really wanted to document those things since I hope to be making this into a book on its 3 yr anni in June. Here is the most hilarious picture that I found in my room at my parents today. I had to make sure Natalie and Lauren saw it too. All newly engaged! What young'uns we were, huh?

Merry Christmas!

OH. MY. GOODNESS. That is hilarious. I was just innocently reading along and all of a sudden, WHAT?! Love the Christmas tree. We are not having one this year because I left all our ornaments, lights, etc in our attic in Bham! :( Oh well. Less stress I guess. I am still laughing at the picture. How I would love to have that tan back!
