I can't even wrap my mind around the fact that Bennett is 5 today! Has it really been 5 years since that wonderful day that he joined our lives? I guess in fact it has been, but it sure doesn't seem like it has. He has brought so much into all of our lives and we continue to love him and be amazed at
all he knows about this world and nature and how it all works. And trust me, he knows alot! He is a true scientist, that boy! He changed all of us on May 22, 2007 and oh what a wonderful five years it has been with him. He is one amazing little boy.

He isn't much of a fan of having his picture taken these days. Guess that comes with getting older..
|
 |
| His birthday is actually today, but we celebrated safari-style Saturday. Such an adorable invitation. |

| Little safari people..the birthday boy with his little sister |

Simms was so excited Addison was there..notice Simms' new summer haircut. Took us a few days to convince
her how cute it was. She loves it now thank goodness..
Mae Mae loved all of the animals..she is used to them though. I get pictures of her wrestling
fainting goats
and a pot bellied pig all of the time.
Cope wasn't too scared either, as evidenced by
this ostrich coming after him. |
 |
| Look at her staring him down..she meant business. |
 |
The fun began once we boarded our rented safari van. And by we
I mean 9 adults and 13 kids,
5 of which were 2 and under.
Lots of laughing and screaming. Some of the other adults were smart
and stayed back at our party site.
Cope was loving it at first..
And then this got a little too close to him..
he hid his face the rest of the
ride behind a seat..
Lanier having fun!
Simms surprised me with all of the giggling and feeding
she did with the animals..
she is usually very cautious |

Lunch was waiting on us when we got back..
after sanitizing, the kids couldn't wait to eat!
Adorable lunch boxes..Sissy thought of everything! |
Adorable and DELICIOUS cupcakes. The monkey was the best..he was iced in fudge!
While most of the kids ate lunch..
Cope contemplated round 2 with the ostrich..And if you are gasping for air wondering how we could let his hair get this out of control, have no fear. Dru and I cut it last night, amid screams and protests from Cope. He looks 4 now. Sad.
And here is the 5 year old today! We took him a pizza and balloon today and enjoyed a pizza picnic by the pool to celebrate! He told Sissy when he woke up that he looked and felt a little bit taller today! We love you Bennett. We had a great day at your party and Uncle Dru and I are so glad Cope has such a great cousin to look up to, and that Simms has you to look out for her! Happy Birthday!
