The Lime Light Presents "The Fabulous 50's"

Well, the end of the year program has come and gone. I don't even think that I can describe how perfect Friday night was. This precious group of kids and their awesome, awesome teachers worked so hard on the show, and you could tell! There wasn't a single glich in the night. How in the world do you get 3, 4 & 5 year olds to transition perfectly through 9 songs and dances? If your teacher is Miss Cyd, it happens, trust me! It is bittersweet that the year is over. Simms at least has another year next year, but I get so sad when things come to an end. I cried leaving the church Friday night after we'd cleaned up everything. I guess I get so sad realizing how fast this year truly went, and how much Simms grew since last August. She is doing so much! Writing, reading 50 sight words and loves going to this preschool every day! I told Cyd that was what made me the happiest..that she loves school so much! And Miss Cyd and Miss Margaret are totally responsible for that! It also helps that I know how much they truly care about Simms. That makes a mama very happy! This has truly been an awesome year and I am so glad Simms has been a part of The Lime Light!Ok..well, here we go! Pictures from a wonderful Friday night performance and reception afterwards!
My big girl before the show!
Lanier, Bennett & Simms..Lanier's mama, Whitney and Bennett's daddy, Drew did this same type show together when they graduated from kindergarten. They starred in the same role that Bennett and Lanier starred in and Lanier is even wearing Whitney's poodle skirt!
These cousins are going to miss each other so much next year! Bennett will be heading to kindergarten in August!
 I see you Bennett!
Lollipop! Lollipop!
Some of the sweet girls in Simms' class..
Teacher  Extraordinaire, Miss Cyd, and my sweet little girl looking up at me..
Huge ice cream sodas that Sissy and I decorated. Thank goodness someone had them cut out for us already. We had the fun part, which was decorating them!

Singing away! Wearing scrub booties for their Blue Suede Shoes peformance..it was adorable!
Doing the twist..
Johnny B. Goode..sing it Bennett!
Simms' sign said, "I learned to write words." And did she ever! She loves, loves, loves to write, but she gets it honestly, because I do too!
And Bennett's was perfect for him too. They came up with what their signs said on their own I think. This boy loves mud, four-wheelers, etc..
The whole group dancing one last time together..
Centerpieces on the tables outside..
Cupcake table..
We also served glass bottled cokes, peanuts with The Lime Light miniature records attatched to them and there were even miniature moon pies! It really couldn't have been a more perfect night! The weather was wonderful and all of the children had so much fun playing and playing while all of their families visited. Simms had a blast with Mary Margaret. She was so happy Minnie and Ninnie and Meme, Grandaddy and Aunt B were all there too! Thanks to Aunt B for transporting 200 cupcakes up to the reception area while we enjoyed the show!

And a BIG thanks to Uncle Miles and Aunt Katy for babysitting Cope so that we could be totally focused on Simms, and I could help out with the reception. They were brave and even took him out to eat. And an even BIGGER congrats to Aunt Katy, who graduated last week, Summa Cum Laude with her BSN! She has already been offered a job in the ICU at St. Francis in Columbus, which is what she hoped for! Hope you and Miles have a great week in Vegas! You deserve a fun trip! Coming next, a post on Simms' ballet recital, which was Saturday! Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!
