We just returned from 5 days of visiting Dru's family that lives in Florida. We wanted to introduce Cope to them, and of course we love going to visit down there. We left on Thursday night and it took us about 7 hours. Luckily we had Dru's mom with us, so there were plenty of hands to help with the two kiddos. They did great though, and mostly slept the whole way down. OF COURSE, we get there and Simms begins running a fever that got up to 103.5 at its highest. Completely scary. We took her to a doctor there, who thought it was just a viral thing that needed to run its course, but it really hit her hard and she was pitiful. I think most of Dru's cousins who heard her while we administered medicine to her four times a day, will probably never have kids. She was determined not to take any of it, and it usually took 3 of us to get it all in. Other than that, our trip was great. We had such a blast with Dru's family. They are so much fun and have treated me like one of them since day one of meeting them almost 10 years ago! (Now that's crazy that it has been that long.) Of course we ate and ate. I've said before Dru's mom and aunts are great cooks, and we ate wonderful food the entire trip. Dru's sweet Aunt Katherine had diapers, formula, milk, juice, wipes all waiting for us when we got there. And it was wonderful seeing Dru's grandfather, Pah. We are so glad we were able to introduce him to Cope. We can't wait to go back. Oh, and of course Simms woke up fever free on the day we left. She and Cope turned 28 months and 2 months while we were away. A post on that will be up soon.

Dru and all of his cousins. I couldn't help thinking about how much we all miss Goosie when I took this picture.

Pah with his first great-grandson.

3 Generations.

Sweet little girl was so sick.

Dru's aunts covered Cope up with this blanket and sent the picture to Dru's dad. They are HUGE Gator fans. It does, however, look as if Cope is sticking his tongue out at the Gator. Ha!

I'm glad Simms is feeling better. They always seem to get sick on a road trip!
